Grant Macpherson
Consultant Petroleum Wellsite Geologist, with over
20 years geological experience in
the oil exploration industry.
BSc Hons Geology / Geography, Keele University. England.
Most of my
experience is international, having worked in the Middle
East/Persian Gulf, Deepwater South Atlantic Basins offshore Brazil and West
Africa
More recently in the Central North Sea with Oilexco and for BP
in Sakhalin, Russia. The last 18 months have included Deepwater
Nigeria, Blocks 242 and 256 and Deepwater China for Devon
Energy.
As a wellsite geologist I provide a
service to analyse, describe and evaluate drilled cuttings,
MWD/LWD and Wireline data.
 | Advising and liaising with onsite personnel,
company men, drilling engineers. |
| Supervision of geological team including QA/QC of
Geological Contractors. |
| Identifying formation boundaries and changes,
selecting casing and coring points. |
| Identifying possible drilling hazards and well
optimization. |
| Selecting and supervising coring operations,
including retrieval, description and dispatch. |
| Continuously evaluating offset data before
and while drilling. |
| Providing verbal and written reports including
final geological report. |
| Providing Litho log and Composite log as per
Clients request. |
| Wireline witnessing and quality control of
operations and data control. |
| Transmission and Communicating with onshore
Geological and Drilling teams. |
